The Head Line: Thinking, Deciding, Clarity

The head line runs across the middle of the palm, below the heart line. In palmistry it stands for the way you think and decide: fast or thorough, sober or pictorial. It is the second station in palm reading — after feeling comes reason.

What do length and slope tell?

  • Long, reaching below the ring finger or further: thorough, wide-ranging thinking — decisions take a run-up and then hold.
  • Short, ending under the middle finger: quick, practical thinking — act first, refine later.
  • Straight and horizontal: sober, factual, fond of lists.
  • Sloping towards the wrist: imagination and pictorial thinking — traditionally the line of storytellers and inventors.

Joined to the life line, or free?

If head line and life line start together at the palm’s edge, tradition reads a careful, family-shaped start: secure first, then jump. A gap between them from the start counts as an early urge for independence — someone who planned their own routes as a child. Again: these are starting conditions, not final scores.

And clarity in everyday life?

The head line describes the thinking style of a life. Whether the head is clear today is something the Schaumorakel measures with its own value — “clarity” is one of the six daily values of every reading. The hand for the style, the foam for the day’s form.

Honestly: no crease in a hand measures intelligence. What is read is a temperament of thinking — entertainment and self-reflection, not an aptitude test.
